The L'Ourson du Lys association: making the mountains accessible to all
A non-profit association recognised as a social enterprise (ESUS), bringing a former holiday village in the Lys valley, empty since 2013, back to life as a social and solidarity holiday residence.
Our story and mission
L'Ourson du Lys is a non-profit association founded in April 2026 in Castillon-de-Larboust, in the Lys valley near Luchon. Recognised as a social enterprise (ESUS) in June 2026, it is restoring a former holiday village into a social and solidarity holiday residence: nine apartments when it opens in November 2027, then twenty.
Prices are calculated on the French family quotient, so that the mountains remain accessible to families, seniors, seasonal workers and everyone too often kept away from them.
“Here we don’t house customers, we welcome stories.”
Who leads the project?
Aurore Le Sidaner, president of the association and project leader, manages it on site, from the restoration to the opening of the residence.
Our values
- Solidarity: prices adapted to everyone’s means.
- Accessibility: a welcome designed for all four families of disability.
- Respect for nature: responsible tourism that values the heritage of the valley.
- Conviviality: a warm place, made for meeting people.
Who supports the project
The Agence des Pyrénées supports the project with engineering, training and development. The Occitanie Region supports it as part of sustainable, responsible and solidarity tourism, and Crédit Coopératif is the association’s bank. The residence is a VACAF partner and the association is a member of UNAT Occitanie.
